What Is SEER2
SEER2
The new efficiency standard
What is SEER?
It stands for Season Energy Efficiency Ratio. Prior to January 1, 2023 equipment in our region follows a minimum SEER rating of 14. As of January 1, 2023 the minimum acceptable SEER rating changed to 15 or higher. The new SEER rating allows for equipment to operate more efficiently.
Starting January 1, 2023 equipment increased 30% directly from all manufacturers.
The southwest region, consisting of Arizona, California , Nevada and New Mexico, will no longer be permitted to install a system rated 14 SEER or below. All Contractors must install the new line of equipment called SEER2
City Heating & Cooling is here to help with the transition to the new equipment line. We will continue to install traditional and Mini Split / Ductless systems. Mini Split/Ductless systems start at a SEER rating of 17. This SEER rating makes it an optimal choice, along with the new traditional style systems with a SEER2 rating.
Our Team at City Heating & Cooling is also here to maintain your current system and keep it working as efficiently as possible!
